The Transformative Power of Forgiveness.

Nelson Mandela’s profound quote, “When a deep injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive,” underscores the transformative power of forgiveness. Holding onto resentment and anger after being wronged keeps us imprisoned in a cycle of pain. True healing and liberation come when we find the strength to forgive. It doesn’t condone the wrong but releases us from its grip, allowing us to move forward with newfound resilience. Mandela’s life exemplifies this, as he forgave his oppressors, catalyzing reconciliation and change in South Africa. In essence, forgiveness is the key to personal and societal recovery, offering the promise of a brighter future.

Mandela’s life story serves as an enduring testament to the redemptive power of forgiveness. By forgiving those who had imprisoned him for 27 years, he not only reclaimed his own humanity but also helped pave the way for a nation to heal and unite. In essence, Mandela’s quote reminds us that forgiveness is not just a gift we offer to others but a gift we give ourselves, as it is through forgiveness that we truly find our way to recovery and, ultimately, to peace.

How are you at forgiving?  Are you able to forgive those that have hurt you? Are you able to forgive yourself?

Mind-Body Techniques Can Be Powerful Healing Tools

When Karena (not her real name) was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor and faced a very delicate surgery, she was terrified. Her daughter had called to ask if I could work with her weeks before surgery to reduce her mother’s anxiety. Through working with me Karena raised her energetic vibration with the Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster™ protocol, developed by Peggy Huddleston. I not only helped her reduce anxiety with mind-body techniques so that she could visualize her complete healing as if was happening in the present, but also to create a support group of loving friends and family, and had the anesthesiologist say healing statements during the multi-hour surgery. I am happy to say that surgery was successful and she and her family were thrilled.  Here is her testimonial:

The Healing Power of the Mind is Amazing

George (not his real name) was diagnosed with lymphoma in the spring of 2021. I began my mind-body work with him just before his first chemotherapy session.  My work helped him reduce his anxiety by leading him in a workshop devoted to reducing his stress; visualizing his short and long-term healing as of its happening right now; surrounding himself with the love of others; listening to a relaxation recording twice daily; and reading Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster™ by Peggy Huddleston.  He made the wonderful shift from deep stress to peace and positivity. Happily, George has been cancer free for more than two years.

Valentine’s Day Quick Tips on Self-Love and Self-Care

Today is Valentine’s Day – and it’s time to practice self-love and self-care. Being good to yourself is what’s important. You may feel down because you are alone, or maybe you have a partner but still feel lonely and/or unloved. Whether you are alone or not, self-love and self-care are what is important. Here’s a short list to boost your mood:

  1. Pamper yourself: Book a massage, have your nails done, get a facial.
  2. Prepare your favorite dinner complete with candles and your best dishes.
  3. Read a book for pleasure.
  4. Take a walk in nature and be mindful.
  5. Watch a good movie.
  6. If it’s cold and rainy out, turn on your favorite music and have a dance party with yourself or a partner.
  7. Most of all, be grateful for what you have.

Remember that it all begins with loving yourself first! As a life and energy coach, the place I begin with is you – the individual – your personality — your dreams and passions – and your heart’s true desires!

Please share these tips with someone you care about. And if you are having challenges letting go of your critical thinking, please reach out to me. I give free consultations and offer Zoom and in-person life coaching, relationship coaching and hypnotherapy sessions to meet your financial needs. I am also certified in the Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster™ developed by Peggy Huddleston. Contact me for a free 45-minute consultation at 503-939-2269 or bela@belacoaching.com. Dissolving Fear

Many people I’ve talked to lately are filled with fear.  Fear about our divided country struggling with politics, an economic crisis, violence, social and racial injustices, the war in Ukraine and COVID.  It is a lot to deal with. But one thing is certain: We have to learn to live together in love, peace and harmony.

I truly believe that we are on the verge of a new era of enlightenment – and its arrival will be in the not-too-distant future. For now, we all have to remember that we have the opportunity to choose love over fear. Love for ourselves and others.

But how do we combat our fears? One way is to remember that the sun is always shining–even though the clouds may obscure it for a while. Here’s a short writing from Louise Hay about fear that can help:

“As the fears come, I choose to see them as passing clouds in the sky, and I let them go on their way. I am not my fears…I know that what we do in our hearts is very important, so I begin every day in a silent connection with my heart. When I feel afraid, I let the love dissolve the fear.”

If you are having issues with fear, confidence or stress please reach out to me. I give free consultations and offering in-person, Zoom and phone coaching and hypnotherapy sessions on a sliding scale to meet your financial needs.
